Mr. Donald Grady Warren, age 84, of King, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2025, at Village Care of King. He was born on April 25, 1940, in Forsyth County to the late Ruben Columbus Warren and Malta Runell Loggins Warren.
Donald was a proud graduate of King High School, Class of 1958, where he excelled as a talented athlete, playing both basketball and baseball, where he once hit a two run game winning home run. His love for sports continued beyond high school, and he considered himself a lifelong golfer, and made three holes-in-one. He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars, especially his 1956 Ford Crown Victoria in which he took great pride and enjoyed showing it off at local cruise ins.
He dedicated nearly three decades of his career to Roadway Trucking Company, where he worked as a relay coordinator before retiring in 1995 after 29 and a half years of service.
Those left to cherish his memory include his oldest son, Mickey Gray Warren; granddaughter, Laura Warren; grandson and his wife, Joshua Gray and Alexandria Warren; great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Rocklan; his youngest son, Jeff Warren; and grandson, Jacob Donald Warren. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister, Marie Love; and his nephew, Randy Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Wagner.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
