Mrs. Dorothy Hooker, age 82, of Westfield, passed away on February 17, 2022 at her home.
She was born on March 28, 1939, in Stokes County, to the late Lespie Joyce and Hattie Mickey Joyce.
Mrs. Hooker worked as a farmer and homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward Hooker Sr.; son, Thomas Edward (Lisa) Hooker, Jr.; daughters, Lynn (Dan) Cabeen, Donna (Joe) Smith, and Tina (Frank) Romayo; sister, Nancy Burton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Hooker family would like to extend a special thanks to Dorothy’s niece, Gail Harger and husband, Dean for the care that they provided for her at the end of her life.
Mrs. Hooker was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Alishia Renea Prater; brother, Frank Joyce; and sisters, Margie Orrel and Margaret Bowman.
A graveside service will be conducted February 22. 2022 at 2pm at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Dean White officiating. Mrs. Hooker will lie in state at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the Stoney Ridge Baptist Church General Fund.
