Dorothy Earlene (Lawson) Joyce

Mrs. Dorothy Earlene Joyce, age 83, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on January 9, 2024, at Pruitt Health in Elkin, North Carolina.

She was born on July 11, 1940, in Surry County, North Carolina to the late Johne David and Alta Louella Lawson.

Mrs. Joyce worked as a seamstress and had a love for sewing especially quilts. She loved her chihuahua, Lucy, and enjoyed wordsearches.

She is survived by her sisters; Barbara Marion, Fay Speas, and Janice McCraw (Jerry); brother, Bobby Lawson (Maggie); stepchildren, Jan Collins, Blandy Joyce, and Randy Joyce; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Joyce; brothers, J.K Lawson and Preston Lawson; brother-in-law, Tommy Marion.

A graveside service will be held at Pilot City Cemetery on Saturday, January 13th, at 2:00pm with Brother D.C. Collins officiating.
