Mr. Douglas Ray Jessup, age 86, of Pinnacle, went home to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday night, November 3, 2025. He was born on September 30, 1939, in Stokes County to the late Ambros “Broze” Milner Jessup and Lula Slate Jessup.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter, Michelle (Matthew) Ring; two precious granddaughters, Meredith and Emma; his sister, Ruby (Gilmer) Walker of Norfolk, VA; brothers, Moir (Betty) Jessup of Pilot Mountain, Harvey Jessup of Winston-Salem, and Harry (Annie) Jessup of Mt. Airy; along with several nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Emerson Jessup;a sister, Roxie Owens; two brothers, Thomas B. Jessup and James Gravely Jessup; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jessup.
Mr. Jessup worked as a control room operator at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Brim’s Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time at Sanders McHone and the Armfield Civic Center with his friends. Mr. Jessup was known for his devotion to his wife, his daughter, and his two granddaughters.
A funeral service for Mr. Jessup will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Brim’s Grove Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain, with Bro. Randy Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
