Douglas Sloop

Mr. Douglas Sloop age 79, of Pinnacle, passed away on August 5, 2022, at Forest Heights Senior Living Community in Winston-Salem.

He was born on March 7, 1943, in Wilkes County, to the late Alvin and Minnie Anderson Sloop.

Mr. Sloop worked at for the city of Winston-Salem as the City Garage Manager. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and raised doves for release at weddings and funerals in the later part of his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Paul) Sanfilippo, of Lexington; grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Sanfilippo, Brandi Sanfilippo, and Jonathan Sanfilippo; and great grandson, Levi Sanfilippo.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sloop was preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Lee Marion Sloop; brother, Gary Sloop; and sister, Jean Grubbs

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 2:00pm at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with Mark Leone officiating. Friends and family can pay their respects from 8:00am-12:00pm on the day of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memorial Park.
