Edsel Floyd Johnson

Mr. Edsel Floyd Johnson, age 99, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on January 31st, 2024, at Northern Regional Hospital.

He was born on April 26th,  1924, in Surry County, NC to the late John Dee Johnson and Meacy Cook Johnson.

Mr. Johnson worked as a Tobacco Farmer who loved to fish, and rabbit hunt. His family says he caught a fish as long as his leg, well into his 90’s.

He is survived by his son, Ray Johnson; daughter, Judy Jones; grandchildren, Todd Jones(Adrienne), Becky Beeson, Matthew Johnson, Zachary Johnson(Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Claire Gulley(Stone), Alice Johnson, Theodore Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Johnson; sisters, Evelyn Elliot and Carolyn Joyce.

A church service will be held Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church at 2pm.Visitation will be held from 1pm to 2pm, with Pastor Rachael Brooks officiating.
