Eloice Wall Obituary

Eloice Phillips Wall, 95, of Clemmons, North Carolina passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born September 3, 1928 in Surry County, North Carolina to the late William Idle and Addie Lee Cain Phillips.

She spent her lifetime taking care of other people.  In her youth, she helped take care of her siblings with an unconditional love that persisted until her dying day.  She took care of her husband, Alston, in sickness and in health, and of their children.  She took care of her many grandchildren, her friends, and her neighbors.  She especially took care of her fellow church members at Pine Chapel Moravian Church, where she was an active member and attended for many years.

Countless lives have been enriched by her kindness, selfless love and seemingly endless generosity. Whether it be from a kind word, a call, a note, a hug, fresh vegetables from her garden she tended with such love, homemade clothes or a quilt with every stitch sewn by hand, a delicious meal, or a simple prayer of encouragement, everyone in Mrs. Wall’s life knew they were loved and cared for.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alston Wall, her son Dwight Wall and her grandsons Britt Wall, Matthew Mickey, and Adam Wall.  She is survived by her son Dale Wall (Kris); her daughters Karen Crews (Pete) and Teena Willard (Judy); her grandchildren Melissa Powell, Leighanna Lindsay (Adam), Shelby Condon (Erik), Holly Pegram (Mike), Daniel Rogers, Marissa Mickey (Eric), Brent Crews (Jessica), Ashleigh Rogers (Carl), Jamie Barrier (Josh) and Summer Rogers; 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with Rev. James Demby and Rev. Ted Kimball officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Pine Hill Church cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Wall would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the care she received during her time there.
