Florida Adelaide (Moser) Spainhour

Our dear mother, Florida Adelaide Moser Spainhour, sadly passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 3, 2025 after a long illness.  She was born on November 27, 1942 to the late Charlie & Viola Moser in Surry County, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Spainhour.  Her survivors include her daughters, Karen Spainhour-Cabrera of Cary, NC & Kimberly Spainhour of Dobson, NC; one son, Kevin Spainhour of Dobson, NC; & three grandchildren, Sarah (Jeremiah) Cabrera-Snyder, Sam Cabrera & Adam Spainhour; & a special friend, Alta Spainhour.

Mrs. Spainhour was a farmer all of her life & never wanted anything more than to be on her tractor.  She was a devoted mother & grandmother, & was always there for us when we needed her.  She & her husband opened Level Cross General Store in 1981 & became invaluable in serving their community.  She touched the lives of many people with her strong will, hard work & determination to live her life the way she wanted.  She loved to garden, cook, bake, travel & just be with her family & friends.  She leaves a void that will be felt by all of us & will be sorely missed.

She was a member of Level Cross United Methodist Church her entire life, where she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery next to her husband.  She will lie in state on Sunday, April 6, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a short service.  Sarah Cabrera & Rev. Heeta Kim will be officiating the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Level Cross United Methodist Church Roof Fund in her honor.
