Franklin "Pete" Delano George

Mr. Franklin “Pete” Delano George, age 87 of Westfield, passed away at Northern Regional Hospital on Monday, February 20, 2023.

Mr. George was born in Surry County on February 21, 1935 to the late Robah & Nellie Inman George.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Helen Overby George; son, Mark (Carolyn) George; daughter, Kathy (Bob) Flora; brother, Jack (Elizabeth) George; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Clement & Matthew George; great-grandchildren, Millie Clement, Caleb Clement, Lydia Clement & Rowen George.  He also leaves behind many loving nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Barbara Lawson, Iris Lackey, Betty Jean Stewart, Peggy Isaacs & Bonnie McCraw; and a infant brother, Donus Eugene George.

During life, Mr. George loved both playing & watching others play golf.  He was a member of the Francisco Ruritan Club where he was recognized for being a member for many years.

A funeral service for Mr. George will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00am until 11:00am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Collinstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  Rev. Rickey Rogers, Pastor Mark George & Rev. Tracy Collins will be officiating.
