Gail Maria Romayo

Ms. Gail Maria Romayo, age 58, of King, passed away peacefully on the night of Friday, January 23, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

She was born on July 27, 1967, in Orange County, New Jersey, to the late Frank Romayo and Barbara York.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kayla Frey, Ericka (Brock) Sawyers, Kristen (Gabe) Lawson, and Jena Sawyers; her beloved grandchildren, Aden Frey, Ella Lawson, Carson, Carter, and Carlington Wheeler; her siblings, Frank Romayo, Joe Romayo, Delphas Holden, Maxine Broadway, David Chapman, and Aaron Chapman; along with many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Romayo was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert York and Earl Chapman.

Gail was self-employed as a housekeeper and was known for her hardworking nature and caring spirit. She was a very loving mother.

A memorial service will be held at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29,2026 at 2:00 pm.
