Garland Issac Boyd

Mr. Garland Isaac Boyd, age 75, of Rural Hall, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

He was born on April 30, 1946 in Patrick County, VA to the late Samuel Boyd and Josie Hooker.

Mr. Boyd was a pastor in the ministry at Open Door Community Church before his home going and was of the Christian Faith.

He is survived by his sons, Gregory Boyd, Christopher G. Boyd and fiancé, Amy Barker, Chase Boyd; daughters Deborah McHone and friend, Thomas Lawrence, Pamela Haskins and husband Randy, and Abbey Bennett and her husband, William Bennett; grandchildren: Zachary Boyd, Megan Boyd, Anthony Bennett, Lauren and Travis Sloan, Tasha and Daniel Beck, Nicholas Hatcher and Stacey Pendergrass, Matt and Stacey Haskins, Cristian, Katie, and Karley Boyd; great-grandchildren: Ava Galloway, Logan and Ella Boyd, Dyllon, Austin, and Jaykob Jankowski, Dillan and Sara Beck, Karrissa and Mali Hatcher, Kali and Tyler Pendergrass, Lilly, Tucker, Kason and Baby Sloan, and a sister Myrtle Bowman.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was predeceased by his wife, Sarah Payne: three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with Reverend Christopher G. Boyd officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Shining Light Baptist Church, in Germanton.
