Gisela Susanna (Geib) Beseth

Mrs. Gisela Susanna Geib Beseth, age 88, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy.

Mrs. Beseth was born on August 30, 1937, in Trier, West Germany, to the late Jacob Geib and Susanna Price Geib. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was affectionately known to many as “Oma,” a title she wore with great pride and love.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Dianna (Jack) Altrath; her son, Daniel (Robin Haas) Beseth; her grandchildren, Gabrielle (Chad Kime) Norris and Abigail (Nathanael Fiechter) Fiechter; her great-grandchildren, Noah Norris, Gage McCarty, and Daisy Kime; her sister, Walli Cook; two additional siblings residing in Germany; and her nieces, Karoline (Grant) Overby and Heidi Cook.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beseth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Beseth; her brother-in-law, Joe Cook; and eleven siblings in Germany.

Mrs. Beseth was employed as a seamstress with Cross Creek, where she was known for her skill and dedication. Above all else, she was known for her warm heart, welcoming spirit, and the love she shared so freely with family, friends, and anyone who crossed her path.

She had a deep love for baking, especially her famous cookies, and was known for her generous heart and constant giving to others. She took great pride in keeping a clean home, always making sure everything was in its place. She enjoyed window watching, front porch sitting, and spending time taking in the world around her. A true girly girl and fashionista, she loved shopping and she never missed a reflection. She delighted in loud music from the 1950s and 1960s, often “Jammin’ to the oldies,” and she especially loved going out to eat, treating her family to meals as one of her many ways of showing love.

A funeral service for Mrs. Beseth will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Westfield Baptist Church, with Rev. Ronnie Chamblin and Marty Sewell officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery and a meal will be held following the conclusion of the services.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
