Mr. Gregory Lee Hill, age 61, of Pinnacle NC, transitioned on September 11, 2022 at home unexpectedly.
He was born on September 19, 1960, in Forsyth County.
Greg worked as a carpenter earlier in his career and later drove a truck with Spevco on the Winston circuit. He made many friends there and enjoyed his time with them. Later, he worked in woodworking. Greg enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, and tinkering. He was able to work on and fix any type of tool or machinery. He was quick witted and always willing to help. His grandson, Gabe, was his best friend and they loved spending time together fishing or in the woods. Gabe refered to him as P-Paw and lovingly said he was his “favorite kind of weird.” He served in the Army and received an honarable discharge. Mr. Hill was a descendant of the Cherokee Tribe and practiced Native American Spirituality.
He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Hill Rodriguez of Pilot Mountain. His mother Doris Gilbert, sisters Cynthia Hill and Suzanne Norman, and brother David Hill. Mr. Hill had two grandchildren; Gabriel Martin, and Brielle Hogan.
Mr. Hill was preceeded in death by his father, Robert Gilbert Sr; and brothers, John Hill and Mark Hill; in addition to his life long love, Nanette Hill.
