Mr. Handy Mabe, age 90 of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Mabe was born in Stokes County on January 1, 1934 to the late Roland & Lonnie Shelton Mabe. He worked as a machine operator for the Department of Transportation, dedicating his professional life to the service of his community.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mabe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Sisk Mabe; his infant daughter, Patti Mabe; & six brothers, Gaston, William, Wilbert, Paul, Billy & Clarence Mabe.
Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancée & partner of twenty years, Brenda White; two sisters, Wilma Gene Flinchum & Velma “Cindy” Mabe; as well as several nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain at 2:00pm on Friday, May 10th with Rev. Jerry Manuel officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm. Following the service, burial will take place at Buffalo Cemetery in Sandy Ridge.
Mr. Mabe's memory will be honored by all who knew him & his legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
