Hilda Claudine (Childress) Beck

Hilda “Claudine” Childress Beck, 78, of Siloam, passed into heavenly peace, July 18, 2021. Born May 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Claude Childress and Hazel Simmons Vaughn. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 49 years, Roger Beck; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason (Sheri) Beck; her daughter, Alice Cockerham and partner, Kelsey Banks; six grandchildren, Dylan Hawks and partner, Maison Garland, Sarah Cockerham and partner, Daniel Jordan, Joseph Cockerham, Stephanie (Adrian) Gardner, Brandon Hawks, Simon Mayes and partner, Kody; a brother, Wayne Childress; two sisters, Linda Golding and Jayne Childress; and a special nephew, Alex Childress (his wife, Patti, and daughter, Olivia). Claudine was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Childress; and a sister, Donna Childress.

Raised in a small farming community, hard work and helping neighbors was part of daily life. She raised her children to do the same. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and skilled homemaker, with quite the reputation for being a wonderful cook. Claudine was always active in her church and community, reaching out and caring for others when they were in need.

A memorial service will be held at Pine Hill Church on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jerry Perdue will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be gifted to Mountain Valley Hospice.
