Howard Wayne Beck

Mr. Howard Wayne Beck, 65, of Pinnacle, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born in Stokes County on November 4, 1955 to Howard Washington and Edna Mae Sprinkle Beck.  He later met and married the love of his life, Martha Davis and together they built a life together, sharing 44 years before the Lord called him home.  He retired from R.J. Reynolds as a mechanical specialist. Howard enjoyed horseback riding and motorcycles in his younger years and later in life loved the outdoors, especially anything to do with hunting or fishing, just being with nature, tending his garden or helping others with theirs. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his hugs, he gave the best ones ever.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of forty-four years, Martha Davis Beck, two sisters and their spouses: Peggy (Bobby) Thomas and Angie (Chris) Coon.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Faye Singletary.

A funeral service will be held, Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Cox-Needham Chapel with Rev. Danny Hall and Rev. Ronnie Brown. A private Interment will follow in the Old Friends Union Cemetery.

Mr. Beck will lie-in-state beginning Thursday, May 20 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Friday, May 21, from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM and Saturday May 22 from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial contributions be made to the upkeep of the Old Friends Union Cemetery.
