Master Sergeant, Special Forces, Paratrooper, James Clark Johnson age, 63 of Pinnacle, North Carolina, took his last jump into the arms of Jesus on January 29, 2019. He was born on August 16, 1955 to the late Oscar Johnson and Mary Johnson Gwyn.
Mr. Johnson was a retired veteran from the United States Army with 20 years of service, as well as retiring after 15 years at Cook Medical, Winston Salem, NC.
He leaves cherished memories with his wife; Marlene Martin of the home, two daughters; Shannon (Lee) O’Rourke, and Ashley (Ross) O’Neal, one son; Pete Johnson all of Mount Airy, NC, two step-daughters; Beth (Derek) McClaugherty of King, NC and Abby (Tony) Holyfield, Dobson, NC, two sisters; Mary Handy and Penny (Phil) Tilley, three brothers; Mike (Regina) Johnson, Jerry Johnson and J.B.(Michelle) Johnson, nine grandchildren; Brooklyn, Chase, Keaira, Aubrie, Kinley, Brody, Megan, Molly, Eli, brother-in-law; Mondell (Teresa) Martin. A host of special nieces and nephews., and his canine companion Winston Churchill
He preceded in death by his parents, Oscar “Pete” Johnson and Mary Johnson Gwyn; step-father; J.W. Gwyn

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Cox Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Colonel Don Bell, US Air Force Retired and Chaplain Arlis Thomas, officiating with full military honors providing by the, Mount Airy VFW Post #2019 and Pilot Mountain VFW Post 9436 and Taps by Van Krause of the Moravian Band .
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 12:00 PM. to 2:00 PM at
