James Odell Joyce

Mr. James Odell Joyce, age 41, of King, passed away on June 10, 2022, at his home.

He was born on May 13, 1981, in Stokes County to Margaret Marsh Joyce and the late Rayford Dale Joyce

Mr. Joyce worked as a cook in the food service industry and was of the Baptist faith.  He also enjoyed being a DJ and was known as DJ Slam.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Ashley Euson Joyce; his mother, Margaret Joyce; a sister, Jessica Grubbs (Matthew); a nephew, Quintin Gwyn; and two nieces, Kimber and Kelsie Grubbs.

In addition to his father, Mr. Joyce was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be conducted June 13, 2022, at True Word Baptist Church in Westfield at 11:00am with Brother David Joyce officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:45am to 10:45am prior to the service.  Interment will follow True Word Baptist Church Cemetery.
