Janie (Needham) Stephens

Mrs. Janie Needham Stephens of High Point, NC, passed away July 5th, 2024 at High Point Regional Health Center.

She was born September 1st, 1930 in Surry County, NC, to the late Emma Joyce Needham and William Conard Needham.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years – Dossie Johnson Stephens; sisters, Mary Murray and Ila Mae George; brothers, WC Needham, Joe Needham, Bobby Needham, and infant twins.

Janie dearly loved her family. Left to cherish her memory are her son Ronnie Lee Stephens and husband Gary Knight; son, William Dennis Stephens and wife Denise Holt Stephens; grandchildren, Logan Stephens and wife Iva, Sarah Stephens Bell and husband Austin, and Adam Knight; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Jane Bell; brother, Bill Needham and numerous nieces and nephews.

A long time Baptist, Mrs. Stephens was a former member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain, NC and a current member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Kernersville, NC.

A celebration of Janie’s life will be held at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Sunday, July 7th, 2024 at 4:00pm with Dr. Joel Stephens officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00pm to 4:00pm with a celebration of her life immediately following. Interment will be in the Pilot City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Janie’s memory to the charity of your choice.
