Mr. Jessie Franklin Jones, age 89, of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on February 1, 2022, at Woltz Hospice in Dobson, North Carolina.
Mr. Jones was born on January 22,1933, in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late Ulus and Ada Key Jones.
He worked as a dock worker for Roadway and was a member of the teamsters. He was of the Baptist faith and his hobbies included flea market shopping, coin collecting, and gardening.
Mr. Jones is survived by his loving wife Judy Jones; his son Todd Franklin Jones (Adrienne Gibson); his daughter Rebecca Jones Beeson, as well as one granddaughter Claire Beeson (Stone Gulley); he is survived by a brother Bobby Jones; and a sister Shelvia Ettinger.
In addition to his parents Mr. Jones was predeceased by brothers: Bill Jones, Lloyd Jones, and Claude Jones, as well as sisters: Hazel Gammons, Opal Hodgin, Audrey Needham, Shirley Jones, and Wilma Scott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church with Rev. Eugene Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow the service.
Mr. Jones will lie-in-state at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, on Friday, February 3, 2022 and Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 8:30am through 4:30pm.
