Mr. John Walter Goins, age 72, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on December 29th, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 5th, 1952, in Forsyth County, to the late Leonard Harvey and Ruth Slate Goins.
Mr. John Goins was a humble man of true integrity, deeply rooted in the small town of Pilot Mountain. He shared a life filled with love and devotion with his beloved wife, raising two beautiful children who, in turn, blessed him with four cherished grandchildren.
John possessed many admirable qualities, from his unwavering work ethic during 40 years at Westinghouse to his steadfast service as a deacon at Little Mountain Baptist Church. His faith shone brightly in every aspect of his life, as he constantly exemplified the love of Jesus to his family, friends, and church community.
Yet, of all his virtues, John’s greatest was his boundless love for his family – unconditional, selfless, and eternal. His legacy of love is the greatest gift he leaves behind, a reflection of his heart and spirit.
Now, healed and whole, John sits with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, experiencing the ultimate peace and joy. His life was a testament to faith, love, and dedication, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wanda King Goins; son, Adam John Goins (Jourdan); daughter, Sarah Beth Orchulli (Jim); brother, Douglas MacArthur Goins (Karen); and grandchildren, Jacquelyn Orchulli, James Orchulli, Walter Goins, and Tate Goins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Phillip Goins.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 4th, 2025, at Little Mountain Baptist Church at 2:00pm with Rev. Bill Watson officiating.
