Joseph Anderson Obituary

Mr. Joseph Courtney Anderson, 91, of Pinnacle, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from his home with his family surrounding him. He was born on August 11, 1929 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Joseph Hall and Hilda Hughes Anderson. He later met and married Carol Staud Anderson and together they had five children. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a truck driver before retiring. Joe was well known in the community for his hobby of working with Belgian Work Horses for many years.  He was also a long-time volunteer with Horn Creek Living Farm for more than 20 years and a service award was established in his name.  Joe was also a devoted member of Pinnacle United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. Joe also loved to play the guitar and sing, especially old- time hymns.

Left to cherish his memory are his five children, John Patrick Anderson, Robert Shane Anderson, Joseph C. (Deborah) Anderson II., Pam Moran, and Susan Jeanne Anderson.  He was also the Grandfather of 9 and Great Grandfather of 22.    

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Carol and two sisters, RayAnna Huffman and Christine Lambiotte.  

Mr. Anderson’s Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021  at 02:00 pm at Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robin Johnson officiating.

The family asks that all those attending, please wear face masks and practice social distancing.  If not feeling well, or if running a fever, please refrain from attending, in order to aid in the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.

Mr. Anderson will lie in state at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain, NC on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Monday, January 4, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
