Joseph Wayne Smith

Mr. Joseph Wayne Smith, age 77, of Germanton passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 26 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Mr. Smith was born on May 17, 1945 to the late Leroy Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth Smith in Winston-Salem.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Smith; a brother, W.D. Smith; a grandson, Rudger (Christy) Norfolk; and a great-grandson, Emery Norfolk. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Smith and his brother, Leroy Smith, Jr.

During life, Joseph worked as a specialist mechanic at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was a member at Bethany Baptist Church

A memorial service will be held at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Dean White officiating.  The visitation for Mr. Smith will be held at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, in honor of Joseph.
