Joyce (Cook) Hawks

Ms. Joyce Cook Hawks, age 62, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed on February 28, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on October 28, 1960 in Patrick County, VA to the late Bill William Cook and Della Marie Fain Young Cook.

Before her retirement, Ms. Hawks worked as a caregiver in the health care industry. She was of the Christian faith, and she was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Hawks and his wife, Jeanie; grandson, Ethan Hawks; brother, Leonard Cook, Jr. and wife Judy; and special friend and caregiver, Connie Edwards.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hawks was predeceased by her son, Thomas Howard Hawks, III.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 06, 2023 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hawks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Skyline Memorial Park.
