Joyce Faye (Beck) Key

Mrs. Joyce Faye Beck Key, age 64, of Siloam, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

She was born on September 18, 1958, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Dock and Hattie Beck.

Mrs. Key worked as a Cafeteria worker and Bus Driver for Copeland Elementary and East Surry High School and was a member of Pine Hill Church in Ararat, NC.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wade Nelson Key, of the residence; daughter Emily Denise Whitaker (Lanny); granddaughter, Amelia Denise Whitaker; mother-in-law, Norris Key; sister, Judy Gillespie; brother, Jimmy Beck (Deana); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Key was predeceased by her brothers, Benny and Roger Beck; sister, Betty Beck; sister-in-law, Claudine Beck; brother-in-law, Benton Gillespie; and father-in-law, Nelson Key

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 1st, 2023, at 4:30pm at Pine Hill Church with Steve Key conducting the service. Visitation will be held at the church on April 30th, 2023, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Interment will follow the funeral service in Pine Hill Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Novant Health Cancer Institute-Mount Airy, Dr. Karin Giordano, Hospice Staff-Dobson and a very special thank you to Betty Wood, Emily Butcher, and Judy Gillespie for their love and care during Joyce’s illness.
