Kenneth Lee Nelson, age 77, of Pinnacle, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Kenneth had been in declining health for several years but, he never lost his hope that he would one day be well again, and now he is. He always had a bright outlook and tried to find the best in everything and everyone.
He loved his family unconditionally and his family was always important to him. Kenneth had a very strong will and determination in everything he did, and defeat was not an option.
Kenneth completed 13 years of school and never missed a day. He was honored and recognized for a great accomplishment at his high school graduation in 1965.
He was born on April 6, 1946 to the late Kenneth Arthur Nelson and the Late Edith Ayers Nelson.
He is survived by his loving wife and caretaker Brenda Foley Nelson; a son Tony Lee Willard (Melissa); two grandchildren, Mekayla Willard Key (Bryson), McKenzie Willard; one precious great granddaughter Paisley Ann Key.
He is also survived by two brothers Larry Nelson (Shirley) and Arnold Nelson; one sister Kathy Money.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Peggy Sue Nelson with whom he had a special bond.
Kenneth was employed and retired from RJ Reynolds with 35 years of service in management.
A funeral service will be held at Harvest Time COG, 312 Newsome Road King, North Carolina on October 20th, 2023 at 2:00pm with Pastor Rob Sizemore, Pastor Don Whichard and Pastor Margaret Whichard officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at the Pinnacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
