Mr. Larry Wayne Stewart, age 80, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on August 29th, 2024, at Woltz Hospice Home.
He was born on September 18th, 1943, Elkin, North Carolina, to the late William Ray and Geneva Banner Stewart.
Mr. Stewart married Jane Beale on February 17th, 1968; he was a loving husband of 56 years. He received his BS and MS from NC State and Doctorate degree from Virginia Tech. He was a career soil scientist and started his own company, Land Waste Solutions, Inc.
Mr. Stewart served in the US Army; active duty for 6 years and reserves for 12 years. He served our country in the Vietnam War in 1972.
Left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife, Jane Beale Stewart; daughter, Elizabeth Stewart Werner and husband Brian G. Werner; sister, Frankie Lee Clarke and husband Gordon Clark and their children Cory and Trisha; beloved rescue dogs Beaux and Guinness.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy Stewart and mother Geneva Banner Stewart and his beloved rescue dog Annie.
A celebration of life is to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to America Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association, Samaritan's Purse, The Salvation Army or Mayberry 4 Paws.
