Larry Van Wray, 78, of Lexington, passed away at his home, November 23, 2020, surrounded by his family. Born August 21, 1942, he was the son of Carl Jasper and Lucille Saunders Wray. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Michael Shane Wray; three sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda (Austin) Clodfelter, Joy Thompson, Judy Lambeth; three grandchildren, Joshua Van (Erica) Wray, Tyler Shane (Holly) Wray, Allison Nicole Wray; and five great-grandchildren, Abilene Lynn Wray, Gabriel Shane Wray, Peyton McKensie Call, Adalyn Savannah Wray and Ahnyx; and a daughter-in-law, Joy Wray.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Larry Van Wray, II.
An accomplished wood carver, Mr. Wray was employed by Unique Furniture in Thomasville for many years. His attention to details made him an artist. He deeply loved his family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and with his friends. His presence will be sorely missed.
Respecting Mr. Wray’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
