April 2, 1957 – October 17, 2025

Ms. Linda Sue Goins, age 68 of Westfield, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, October 17, 2025, at Village Care of King. She was born on April 2, 1957 in Stokes County, to the late Robert Harden Bowman and Ellen Goins Bowman.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Harden Bowman; her mother, Ellen Tilley; two sisters, Peggy Ann Woods and Mary Frances Swift; and one brother, Ricky Wayne Bowman.

Those left to cherish her memory include one brother, Robert Harden Bowman, Jr.; her daughters, Anna Bowman Mitchell and Misty Ellen Goins; her son (and self-proclaimed favorite), Timothy Gray Goins and his wife, Katie Smith Goins; grandchildren, Samuel Taylor Pruitt, Zachary Chase Foley, Sidney Gray Goins, and Jolie Elizabeth Smith; and great-grandchildren, Chyanna Hope Pruitt and Layne Taylor Pruitt.

The family extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Village Care of King for the love and care they provided to Ms. Goins during her time there.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, with James Gilley officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations in honor of Linda Sue Goins—our social butterfly—be made to support the dedicated staff at Village Care of King. Their compassionate care brought love and happiness to Ms. Goins during her three-year residency. Proceeds from these memorial donations will be used to support other residents through bingo supplies, craft materials, and other enriching activities.
