Lois Ann Woodward Johnson
December 22, 1930 – October 26, 2024

Lois Ann Woodward Johnson, age 93, of Dobson, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1930, in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Lloyd and Etta Stanhope Woodward. Lois was a dedicated student and proud alumna of the University of Vermont, where her father was a respected professor of Physics.

A nature enthusiast and longtime member of the National Audubon Society, Lois found joy in birdwatching and nurturing her garden. She was also a skilled seamstress, creating countless cherished pieces for her family and friends. Above all, Lois was a devoted homemaker, treasuring her role as the heart of her family.

Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Jay Lee Johnson; her step-children, twin sons, Jay Johnson and his wife, Laura, and Jeff Johnson and his wife Kay, daughters, Margie Johnson and Janell Ledger. She also leaves behind multiple step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom affectionately knew her as "Nannie Lois." Additionally, she will be dearly missed by her many cherished nieces and nephews, with a special mention of her niece, Susanne Woodward Petrie and her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Woodward.

The family would like to extend thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice, her nurses, Teresa Pack, Cindy and Donna, as well as countless others who cared for her in her last weeks & days.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. Cox-Needham Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Johnson family in their time of loss.
