Marie Elizabeth (Quesinberry) Jessup

Marie Elizabeth Quesinberry Jessup, 76, of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 in her home. Family will receive friends Saturday, October 4th at 1:00 pm at Westfield Friends Meeting Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, with Ricky Rogers, Linda Anderson, and Posey Simmons officiating. Burial will follow the services at Westfield Friends Church Cemetery. A meal will be held afterwards.

Marie was born in Patrick County, VA on December 12, 1949 and spent her childhood at Joy Ranch in VA before settling in Sandhills in Troy NC. She went to school at Woodlawn High School. She was married for 56 years to the love of her life, Douglas “Rayford” Jessup, on August 30, 1969 at Marshall Baptist Church in Winston Salem. She worked for Spencer’s and Brown Wooten Sock Factory for years before becoming a community babysitter. She loved horses, all the children, and found her Lord and Savior at Westfield Friends Meeting Church. Marie loved going to Mount Rogers and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents Viola and CJ Irvin and her brother James Quesinberry.

Marie is survived by her loving husband, Rayford of the home, Daughter Sherri and Tim Hutchens, Son Greg and Crystal Jessup ; Brother Clinton, “Tuby” Quesinberry and Betty, Brother Eddie and Carol Hall; Allison (Brian) Lawson; Amber (Jake) Rogers, TJ (Grace) Hutchens, Brandon Jessup, Caitlin (Billy) Hager, and Ashley Jessup; Great Grandkids: Isabella Rogers, Aaron Rogers, Esmay Jessup.

Pallbearers will be TJ Hutchens, Brandon Jessup, Jake Rogers, Jimmy Goodnight, Billy Hager, Chuck Trumpie, Dickie Brannock, Trevor Hauser, and Aaron Rogers and Everett Eichelberger as honorary pallbearers.
