Marion (Koontz) Peterson

Ms. Marion Koontz Peterson, age 87, of Pinnacle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, September 4, 2024, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born on July 17, 1937, in Mocksville to the late Obediah Belshazzar Koontz and Cora Lee Wilkins-Jordan Koontz.

Marion was a loving and dedicated wife, marrying Dean Dorus Peterson in 1975. They shared many cherished years together until his passing in 2008. Her memory will be lovingly carried on by her daughters, Patty (Todd) Richardson & April (Otis) Johnson; & her grandchildren, Kyle Eric Hiatt, Anthony Ryan Hiatt, Dillion Richardson & Kaylia Richardson.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Marion was preceded in death by her siblings, Calvin William (Minnie) Koontz, Obediah Franklin (Lib) Koontz, Irene Julie Koontz (J.L.) Hiatt; James Dalton Koontz, Warren Lee Koontz, Harold Clark Koontz & Charley Ray Koontz.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Ms. Peterson's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pilot Mountain on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00pm at the church. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.
