Martha Jane (Gwyn) Haynes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Mrs. Martha Jane Gwyn Haynes at the age of 75. Born July 19, 1947. Called home December 13, 2022.

Martha had a strong faith in her lord and savior and believed that she would finally be reunited with her family. She said more than once how she looked forward to seeing her Daddy again. She loved her crafts and was gifted in many areas. Latch hooks to looms she could make just about anything. Her thirst for crafts was only eclipsed by her love of reading. Anyone that ever knew her knew about her love of books. With a colorful history, she experienced everything from carnival work to being a security guard (very comical because she was only 4’9”). Her most cherished job was at Home Instead where she helped care for others.

She was a complicated woman that spent her life chasing happiness & acceptance. Though we feel the loss of her presence, we rejoice in the peace that she has been granted.

She was preceded in death by her mother Tilda Gwyn, father Frank Gwyn; Sisters Francis & Betty Gwyn; Brothers Ellis, Clayton, James, & Bill Gwyn; son Wesley Frank Whitaker. And many others that were called home way too soon.

She is survived by son Paul Miller (partner Angel Byers) and Daughter Wanda Miller.

Grandsons Jesse Whitaker & Wesley Whitaker.

 Granddaughters Paula Jane Miller, Amanda Dalton(Husband Carlos Guillen) & Amber Dalton.

Great Granddaughters Dayzee & Pyper Whitake.

 Great grandsons Nicholas, Jesse James, Dalton, & Wesley Jace Whitaker.

Husband Ronald Haynes, stepsons Jeff & Phillip Haynes, stepdaughter Dennis Haynes and their respective families; children and grandchildren.

We will be having a memorial service for Mom at Cox-Needham funeral Home December 23, 2022.  The family will be receiving visitors from 3:30 pm and the service will be at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, we will be accepting donations to help cover cost and expenses from her battle with cancer.
