Obituary

Ms. Mary Helen Bowman, age 82 of Pilot Mountain, passed away peacefully at Woltz Hospice home on Monday morning, June 19th.

Ms. Bowman was born on December 29, 1940 in Stokes County to the late Will & Nellie Diane Joyce Bowman.

Being born & raised in Stokes County, she spent her life doing what she loved. Mary worked as a farmer to keep her beloved county fed & beautiful.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Betty Jo Bowman; a step-son, Joey Anthony Joyce & wife Jamie Joyce; a step-grandson, Bryan Austin Joyce; & numerous cousins. Also left to cherish her memory are two special friends, Novella Adams & Jan Cox.

A funeral service for Mary will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, June 22nd at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.
