Mary Frances Childress Hudson, age 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away on July 18, 2022 at her home.
She was born on January 25, 1945, in Surry County to the late Carl Mose Childress and Dinah Vester Hawks Childress.
Mary was a homemaker and was a woman of faith. She loved to read her bible and romance novels. She also enjoyed doing word finds and eating good food.
She is survived by her children, Ivan Tate Jr., Joyce Ann Faraj, William Cecil Hudson, Patricia Lynn Faraj, Dwayne Dale Hudson and Lranda Gail Forrester; sons-in-law, Chaouki Faraj and Sydney Forrester; grandchildren, Mounerah (Dan), Samira (Hassan), Mounir, Ali, Mohamed, Hussein, Kadeja, Alexis, Atiyah (Trionn), Andre Jr., and Barry; great-grandchildren, Ishaan, Kishan, Trinity, and Trionn Jr.; honorary grandchildren, Beth, Matthew, Brittany, Pam, Ashley, Marcelle, Amira, Nick, Jasmine, Kal, Samer, Kamel, Zahraa, Lama, Marwa, and Zeinab; two sisters, Jean C. Conner and Betty Bowman; and five brothers, Carl Childress, Jr., Edward Lee Childress, Garnett Sanders Childress, Clayton Gray Childress, and Billy Ray Childress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dinah Ruth Childress; brother-in-law, Donald P. Conner; sons-in-law, Hajj Hussein Faraj; and daughter-in-law, Charlene Hudson.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 2:00pm at Peoples Church Cemetery in Mount Airy with Pastor Gregg Griffith officiating. Friends and family can pay their respects at Cox-Needham Funeral Home from Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 8:00am through Thursday, July 28, 2022 at noon.
