Marylin McDaniel Obituary

Marylin Faye McDaniel, age 77 of Pinnacle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  Marylin was born January 14, 1948 to the late Hoyt E. Ayers & Blanche Simmons Ayers.

A graduate of East Surry High School & Winston-Salem Business College, she devoted her life to helping others with her work, both for Stokes County Social Services & Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Above all, Marylin was devoted to her family.  Always dependable, she was generous & loving, always present with extraordinary caring, almost always delivered with a sweet smile & happy song.

In her spare time, she enjoyed westerns, blue grass music & spending time with her loyal & steadfast companion, her dog Baby.

Marylin was a devoted Christian & long-time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Pinnacle.

Marylin is survived by her husband, Wade McDaniel; step-son, Rodney (Michele) McDaniel; son, Keith (Lisa) Collins; sister, Diane (David) Stalls; grandchildren, Meagan Collins & Colton Collins; & step-grandson, Jacob McDaniel.

She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Vaughn Collins; grandson, Adam Braxton Collins; & great-grandson, Jayden Dean Collins.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice for their kind care.

A memorial service for Ms. McDaniel will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Pinnacle.  Rev. Marc Sanders of Grove Park Baptist Church in Burlington will be officiating the services.
