Melissa Gearheart

Melissa Gearheart left this world for a better place on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Northern Regional Hospital.  She was born on May 10, 1982, in New Hampshire and moved to North Carolina when she was in elementary school.

After moving to North Carolina, Melissa found the family she had been looking for all her life.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory 2 wonderful daughter: Epifani Leigh Johnson and Talia Celeste Gearheart.  Melissa had 5 wonderful sisters: Lee Ann Calhoun, Christina White, Charity Collins, Tia Thompson, and Heather Hayslip.  She also leaves behind a brother, Brandon O’Neil.

Melissa loved her family and hanging out with her kids. She loved to read and eat Carmelo’s, her favorite candy. Melissa’s favorite movie was Nightmare Before Christmas and favorite character in the story was Jack. She collected Grateful Dead Bears and loved anything associated with the band. Melissa’s friends loved her for her sense of humor. Her sisters hope people will remember what Melissa did best…And that was being a mom and best friend.
