Myrtle Irene (Shelton) Wagner

Mrs. Myrtle Irene Wagner, age 81, of Siloam, passed away on October 6th, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center.

She was born on November 10th, 1942, in Surry County, to the late General Carter Shelton and Bernice Holt Shelton.

Myrtle was a gifted artist, whose creativity brought beauty and joy to all who experienced her work. She also had a love for gardening, tending to her plants with the same care and patience she showed in all aspects of her life.

Above all, Myrtle was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing her loved ones with warmth, kindness, and love.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Regina Wagner Ledford, and Patricia Wagner Sprinkle (Tommy); grandchildren, Sidney Lester (Christina), Heather Paul, Ashton Wagner Riccio (Michael), Doyle Barr (Amber), and Cheyenne Barr; one great-granddaughter; 5 great-grandsons; brother Eddie Shelton; sisters, Doris Rogers and Joy Willard; dearest friend, Elaine Galyean.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wagner; children, Jerry Dale Wagner; siblings, Mary Frances Cox and J.T. Shelton.

Myrtle’s legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service will be conducted on October 19th, 2024, at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2:00pm with Bro. Arlan Faircloth officiating. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00pm at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Brims Grove Baptist Church.
