Mrs. Nora "Jean" Gallman, age 77, of Mount Airy, passed away on February 7th, 2023, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
She was born on May 18th, 1945, in Richmond, VA to the late Harry William Hill and Nell Ashley Hill.
Mrs. Gallman was a feisty, tireless worker who never sat still. She was passionate about running her business, Jean’s Custom Show Fashions, that she started in 1984. Designing and creating equestrian show clothing was a natural talent for Jean, and it went well with her love for all animals, especially horses. Mrs. Gallman spent many weekends on the road, attending horse shows, and sharing her designs with her AQHA and APHA show families.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Charlie Gallman; daughter, Tina Marie Gallman with fiancé, Mark Henderson; son, Van Gallman with wife, Bonnie; granddaughter, Candy; great grandson, Caden; many loving nieces and nephews, and her traveling companions, Jackson and Tigger.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gallman was preceded in death by her grandmother, Christine West Mulligan.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 11th, 2023, at 2pm at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with Rev. Zack Crissman officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
