Oakley Eugene Manring

Rev. Oakley Eugene Manring, age 90, of Tobaccoville, passed away on February 18, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

He was born on June 3rd, 1934, in Stokes county to the late Hardin Powell Manring and Hattie Lawson Manring.

Rev. Manring ran his own business as a building contractor. He preached the gospel for 65 years spreading gods word to all who needed to hear. He loved his family greatly, as well as Lexie. You could also find him camping and fishing and spending time with his family at his favorite spot, Cades Cove.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Manring; Daughter, Melinda Manring; Son, Ricky Manring; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Wayne Manring.

Along with his parents, Mr. Manring is proceeded in death by four brothers and one sister.

A Funeral service will be held at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Saturday February 22nd, 2025, at 2:00 pm with a visitation to be held one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at Pilot Mtn. City Cemetery.
