Opal Alice Ring Hodges. 64, of Salisbury, passed away January 28, 2020 at Rowan Medical Center. Born October 14, 1955, in Grayson, Virginia, she was youngest child born to Dan and Myrtle Foster Ring.
A fiercely independent woman, she lived life as a grand adventure. Her strong will led her to the Florida Keys as a late teen, where she resided for several years before beginning her greatest adventure as a mother to her two loving children. She set a stellar example of work ethic for her children by working as a construction clean-up crew member for Summit Salcoa. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her beloved pet; Marley, and her grand-pet Jin-Jin.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two children; Emily Lauren Hodges and William Harley Hodges and his girlfriend, Dakota, and her children; Isaiah and Sage Morris; two brothers, Clinton Quesinberry and James Quesinberry; three sisters, Nancy Pruitt, Imogene Melton and Marie Jessup; honorary sisters, Mary Moore, Pat Byrd and her fur-babies along with several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Hodges was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Myrtle Foster Ring, one brother; Ellis Quesinberry; and one sister, Frances Beck.
Family will receive friends Saturday February 1, 2020 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM and a Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Donald Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Slate Mountain Baptist Church in Mount Airy with Reverend Nancy Pruitt officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cox-Needham Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
