Mr. Paul Vernon, age 81, of Mount Airy, passed away on January 26th, 2023, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
He was born on February 15th, 1941, in Surry County, to the late Brady Harrison Vernon and Virginia Gunnell Vernon.
Mr. Vernon worked hard as a mechanic until he was 71 years of age and was a member of The Mount Airy First Pentecostal Holiness Church for 50 years. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Ruby Embry Vernon; three sons, Bartley Vernon with wife Dusty, Jonathan Vernon with wife Suzanne, and Andy Vernon with wife Melissa; two stepchildren, Clint Hall with wife Karen and Sherrie Pruitt; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother Mickey Vernon with wife Dorie.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Vernon was predeceased by his son Timothy and one brother, Bobby.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 29th, 2023, at 2pm at Mount Airy First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Albert Everidge and Pastor Brian Frazier officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:45pm to 1:45 pm. Interment will follow at Midkiff Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mr. Vernon’s name to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd, Dobson, NC 27017
