Pauline Montgomery Ellis, 87, of Pinnacle, passed away October 30, 2021, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Born March 28, 1934, she was the daughter of Frank Lee and Hazel Pratt Montgomery. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Walter (Shannon) Lane; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet (Schubel) Jackson; two grandsons, Christian Lane (Lora Bowen), Connor Lane; a stepdaughter, Jean Lane Wasencky; two stepsons, Larry S. Lane, Ronnie Lane; a brother, Lee Montgomery; two sisters, Peggy Hall, and Sara Mecum.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and father of her children, Gurnie Robert Lane; and husband, Ed Ellis.; two daughters, Rebecca Sue Goins, and Karen Goins; a brother, Olen Montgomery; a sister, Phyllis Cook Casstevens; and a stepson, Gray Lane.
Raised being active in church, Pauline played piano for her father’s church, and continued playing for church youth programs as her own children attended. She worked many years for Adam Millis as a sock folder, but when home, she enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being outdoors, watching butterflies and tending her flower beds. Her caring and tender nature will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 1:00 PM, but will receive visitors from 12:00 until the time of the service. The Bro. Jerry Pardue will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendly Chapel Church Cemetery. Mrs. Ellis will lie in state at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 2, (2:00- 4:30), Wednesday, November 3, (8:30-4:30), and Thursday, November 4, (8:30-1:00).
