Phillip Ray Inman, 78, of Pilot Mountain, passed away after a lengthy illness, August 5, 2021, at Central Continuing Care. Born November 7, 1942, he was the son of Vester Ray Inman and Willie Wilkes Norman. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife, Geneva Shinault Inman; two sons and daughter-in-law, Douglas R. (Cindy) Inman, Phillip “Andy” Inman; a stepson Arnold Tolbert; two stepdaughters, Peggy Bryant, and Tammy Tolbert; four sisters, Virginia L. Howlett, Letsie Whitaker, Brenda Beasley, and Janice Tollison; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Mary Ethel Draughn Inman; a daughter, Donna E. Inman; a brother, Carl D. Inman; two sisters, Shirley Key, and Patsy Beaver; and three grandchildren, Jerry L. Steffey, Timmy Inman and Josh Inman
A man who learned the value of hard work, he provided for his family, their needs, both material and spiritual. A faithful Christian, he served not only his family, but his community. His kind heart will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Solid Rock Bible Baptist Church with a visitation at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM, prior to the service. The Rev. Gary Snow, the Rev. David Jones, and the Rev. Richard Blevins will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Solid Rock Bible Believing Baptist Church at 140 Lyndsey Way, Dobson, NC 27017.
