Obituary

Mrs. Rachel Lee Brown, age 87, of Walnut Cove, passed away on December 31, 2022, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

She was born on April 11, 1935, in Stokes County, to the late Howard Raleigh Boles and Bertha Boles.

Mrs. Brown spent her working years as a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.  She loved working in her garden, but most importantly, she was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her son, Doyle T. Brown; her sister, Carey Ann Southern; and her four brothers, John Boles with wife, Peggy, Michael Boles, Kenneth Boles, and Wayne Boles.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Brown; two sisters, Betty Flinchum and Bertha James; and one brother, Odell Boles.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, at 11:00am at Flat Shoals Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel.
