Rebecca Olene (Rierson) Wilson

We celebrate the life of Rebecca Olene Rierson Wilson, who joined her loving husband, Harry Washington Wilson, Jr. on July 7th, 2021.  When we look back on the rich life she lived, we believe she would look down from heaven and say,

“I was grateful for my time on this earth.  I enjoyed my work at Hanes Mill, but I enjoyed my retirement more. 

 I loved my brothers, Robert and Fred; their spouses Lena and June; and their children and grandchildren.  My family grew when I married Harry.  I treasured the family bonds with his children Harry and Jaye Wilson, Debbie Wilson, and Tony Herman; my sisters-in-law Kathryn, Jean and Mary; and the extended Wilson family. 

The First Baptist Church became my church family when I moved to Pilot Mountain.   I found a new passion, knitting for the prayer shawl ministry.  

I was blessed to stay in my home thanks to the kindness, compassion and support of my family, friends, and neighbors.  I loved you all.” 

Olene will lie in state at Cox Needham Funeral Home in Pilot Mountain Monday, through Wednesday July 12th-14th.  A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, July 15th at Trinity Methodist Church in King, Dr. Andy Hughes will be officiating.
