Mr. Richard Nichols Evans
August 20, 1943 – June 12, 2025
Mr. Richard Nichols Evans, age 81, of Dobson, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Richard was born on August 20, 1943, in Reidsville, North Carolina, to the late John David Evans, Sr. and Dorothy Beatrice Nichols Evans. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He later worked as a skilled mold maker for Burns Aerospace, where he was known for his dedication and precision.
Richard will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal brother. He loved his family deeply and was always ready with a kind word or helping hand. His steady presence, quiet strength, and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Priscilla Hayes Evans of the home; daughters, Charlotte (Gene Jr.) Britton and Yvonne (Scott) Bartlett; son, Richard Vincent (Rhonda) Evans; and grandson, Christopher Evans, of the home. He is also survived by six additional grandchildren, Jeffery Britton, Justin Britton, R. Nicholas Evans, R. Sophia Evans, Sarah Bartlett and Hannah Bartlett; one great-grandchild expected soon; his sister, Shirley Mitchell; and brothers, J.D. Evans, Jr., Fred (Brenda) Evans, and Alvin (Janice) Evans.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Military rites will be presented in honor of his service. Pastor Gary Styers will be officiating.
