Richard Legare

Richard Legare,  age 87, of 188 Hacker House Trail, Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on January 24, 2022 at his residence.

Dr. Legare was born on December 27, 1934, in Central Falls, Rhode Island to the late Roland Legare and Bernadette LaValle

He worked as research chemist for Hercules Inc. and was of the Catholic faith.

Richard is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Clifford) Martin of Pilot Mountain and Lydia (Jim) Fancher of Houston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Sue (Ken) Riggs of Georgia; two brothers, Roland Legare and Leo Legare; four sisters, Lucille Bibeault, Simone Janerelli, Anne Ayotte, and Denise Ayotte; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren with one on the way.

In addition to his parents Dr. Legare was preceded in death by his first wife, Cecile Labbe and second wife, Mary Mato.

Dr. Legare’s family will be holding a private funeral service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
