Rilla (Matthews) Gregg

Mrs. Rilla Matthews Gregg, age 97, of Kernersville, passed away on July 1, 2024, at her home.

She was born on August 22nd, 1926, in Surry County, North Carolina, to the late John Thomas and Lydia Patterson Matthews.

Mrs. Gregg worked for over 35 years as a corporate secretary and ticket agent for Piedmont Airlines. She was a long-standing member of Griffith Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class.

Rilla was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Belton Oakley Gregg.

Rilla loved her family dearly. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Elizabeth Gregg (Patrick) Frossard; son, Matthew (Christina) Gregg; grandchildren, Gregg M. (Cantley) Merritt, Seth (Brooke) Gregg, Lydia Gregg, Nathaniel Gregg; great-grandchild, Luke Gregg; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 13th at Simmons Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Brown officiating.
