Roxie Elizabeth (Jessup) Owens

Mrs. Roxie Elizabeth Jessup Owens, age 94, of Mount Airy, passed away on June 17, 2025, at Ridgecrest Retirement Community.

She was born on November 5th, 1930, in Stokes, North Carolina to the late Broze Jessup and Lula Slate Jessup.

She is survived by her son, Mike Owens (Sherry); sister, Ruby Jessup Walker; brothers, Harry Jessup, Harvey Jessup, Doug Jessup, Moir Jessup.  She is also survived by four nieces and one nephew.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Owens; brothers, Gravely Jessup and Tommy Jessup.

A funeral service for Mrs. Owens will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Westfield Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Blake Bowman will be officiating the service.

Mrs. Owens’ family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Ridgecrest Retirement Community for the care that she received during her time there.
